Jones Lang LaSalle's 2008 Latin America Transparency Index reveals the overall outlook for real estate transparency in the Latin American region is positive as noted improvement has been made across much, but not all, of the region.  While some of the largest countries - Brazil, Colombia and Mexico - are taking the necessary measures to increase investments and economic growth by protecting property rights and making regulations less burdensome to private owners, others including Argentina and Venezuela have seen their economic fundamentals deteriorate as local governments take on a larger role in the economy.
